Fore the Youth Golf Classic

The 2021 Fore the Youth Classic has been postponed.

The Rookery South in Milton hosted the first annual Fore the Youth Golf Classic. Factory Sports and The Jason Anderson Foundation partnered to host the inaugural Classic.

The Jason Anderson Foundation supports youth in need by providing them the opportunity to participate in organized local community sports. The Foundation believes that these children gain valuable life and fitness benefits by participating in community sports.

Founded in 2015 after the tragic loss of their son Jason, the Anderson family started the non-profit Foundation as a way to give back. Sports were an essential part of Jason’s personal and professional life including his time at Syracuse University, the Syracuse Sky Chiefs, the New Orleans Saints, Dover Motor Sports and the Ohio University Sports Administration program. Jason also quietly gave back to his community. He volunteered his time to the Autism Society of Delaware, the Brain Injury Association of Delaware, the Delaware Sports Commission and the Delaware Chamber of Commerce. As a result of his unselfishness and desire to help the community, creating the Foundation was an easy choice.

Factory Sports aims provide the highest quality of coaching for athletes of all ages and abilities that they might compete with enthusiasm, character, and expertise in a safe environment.

Founded in 2014, Factory Sports owners Pat Woods and his wife, Brandi, opened the doors on the belief that our youth need guidance in getting from point A to point B, and what better way to provide such guidance than through athletics.

Factory Sports employee, Brad Leinbach, believes that; “The synergy between the two organizations is such a natural fit. The Jason Anderson Foundation allows youth the financial opportunity to participate in sports, in the hopes that they are able to be mentored and coached by high-character individuals. Here at Factory Sports, we provide the physical location and structure for these young athletes to participate in organized activities and pride ourselves on our staff’s ability to connect to these athletes.”

Fore the Youth Golf Classic featured a “shotgun” start and was comprised of golfers paired into four-some’s. The Classic held multiple contests; a longest drive hole, a closest to the pin hole, and a hole-in-one hole. In addition to the contests, golfers received a swag package and lunch.
